Introducing our new per-prompt pricing model

Overview

We’re transitioning from a per token system to a per prompt system for greater transparency on usage and costs. Paid plans now include:

• Free Fix with AI (so errors won’t eat your prompts). Use “Fix with AI” for free up to 7 times (in a row).
• Early access to upcoming features like reasoning and internet search
• The option to buy top-up prompts that never expire

Legacy Plans

• You can keep an existing (legacy) plan, but Fix with AI will count towards token usage.
• No upgrades/downgrades to older deprecated plans are available.

Max Mode Pricing

Max Mode is an enhanced operational setting designed for our most powerful models and complex, multi-step agentic workflows. It ensures higher performance and reliability for your most demanding tasks.

Due to the increased resources, Max Mode usage is converted into an equivalent number of “prompts” that are deducted from your plan’s monthly quota.

Pricing Formula

The cost in prompts for a Max Mode task is calculated by converting the underlying API cost to a prompt count.

Cost in Prompts = round( Total API Cost / $0.20 )

The final number is always rounded to the nearest whole number.

Max Mode Pricing Examples

Here’s how the calculation works in practice.

Standard Usage

Let’s say your task in Max Mode incurs a total underlying API cost of $2.00.

1. Convert to prompt count:
   $1.00 / $0.20 = 5
2. Round to the nearest integer:
   The result is already a whole number.

This usage will deduct 5 prompts from your account.

Usage with Rounding

Now, imagine a shorter task in Max Mode results in an API cost of $0.89.

1. Convert to prompt count:
   $0.89 / $0.20 = 4.445
2. Round to the nearest integer:
   4.45 is rounded down to 4.

This usage will deduct 4 prompts from your account.

FAQ

Q: Can I keep my old plan? A: Yes, you can keep it, but Fix with AI isn’t free on these legacy plans.

Q: When do prompts reset? A: Prompts reset 1 month after you make your plan upgrade. they upgrade at 7 PM EST the day before the 1-month mark. For free plans, prompts reset at 7 PM EST every day.

Q: Can I switch back later? A: No, once a plan is deprecated, it’s no longer accessible.

Q: Do bonus prompts expire? A: No, bonus prompts can be used at any time and never expire.

Q: Will I lose any unused prompts at the end of the month? A: Unused monthly prompts reset, but bonus prompts roll over indefinitely.

Q: “Is there a limit on “Fix with AI”? A: Yes you can only use “Fix with AI” for free 7 times it will begin counting as a used prompt. Usually, this means that there is a more complex bug that may require some manual debugging.
